Hosting of web applications and web services is not allowed in lite version.

FTP with purplenova

FTP doesnt seem to work. I tried using the FTP built in the software, the authentication always fails. Tried disabling that and use guild ftp daemon. The requests doesnt get passed thru to the ftp server but is handled by the built-in ftp even after un-checking it.

Is there a workaround?

Perforce on Purplenova

I am trying to setup perforce on purplenova. I set p4web on port 8080.

When I try to connect it pops up the login window but adds the purplenova.net as the domain name with the username and so doesnt get thru.

Any ideas of getting around this issue?

Tomcat and JBoss Server Connectivity

I have read somewhere that purplenova can use localhost port:8080, but when I try to find back that paragraph, I'm lost.

I just want to check if Purplenova can connect with Tomcat or JBoss server without having to go with apache mod_jk first.

Problem with URL transmission

..... when I tried to send one file to a friend, he couldn't access it. The URL that I copied (from Purplenova window) is found incomplete by the recipient.

Anybody had this problem?

Accessing Windows Media Playlists remotely with Purplenova

Hi Everyone

Purplenova lets you listen to streaming playlists from a remote computer.

1) Use the WPLCreator software (Windows media format playlist) available at: www.purplenova.com/tools/wplcreator.exe

to create the playlist from a folder containing the media tracks.

2) Drag drop the folder into Purplenova

The entire playlist can be accessed simply with the Playlist URL from any computer that has a streaming Windows Media Player.

How to Host a Picasa Album directly from the desktop

Here are the steps to host a Picasa Album directly off your desktop:

1) Create a Picasa Album

2) Export it as an HTML (Use "Export as HTML Page" menu item that appears on right-clicking on the album in Picasa) into a directory on your PC. Good idea to create a new directory.

3) In Purplenova, do Host new-> Host Folder, and select the directory into which you have exported the Album.
